There's a TSB came out in '94 for all Nissan vehicles. Most manufacturers recommend 5W30 as well. The 5 wt helps provide better lubrication after a cold start while the 30 wt in theory will provide the same high temperature protection as 10W30. I still use 10W30 out of habit but will switch to 5W30 the next chance I get. Taxi's get real high mileage out of their engines when the engines never cool off. I think using Nissan's recommended grade is most likely a good idea.
